At Providence Preparatory School, we are preparing children for life and a love of learning. By nature, children are curious, inquisitive and learn best through multi-sensory experiences. In our classrooms, we utilize The Project Based Learning approach. This instructional strategy creates an environment that is flexible and supports all learners to be actively engaged. It is a child-centered approach that provides opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking that are important for success in the twenty-first century.
During the Project Based Learning approach, teaching and learning are happening simultaneously. The teacher leads a brainstorming conversation that allows for the children to engage in an open dialogue with their peers. This collaboration is the foundation for the process by which children explore hands-on materials to make real world connections and construct their own meaningful experiences.
