Whitney C

Name: Whitney Clark

Education: Early Childhood Associates Degree to be completed in 2020

Experience: 15 years

Hire Date: July 5, 2016

Why I chose the field of Early Childhood Education: I chose early childhood at the beginning of my working career because I always knew from a young age I had a passion for helping children. Working with children runs in my family so being a teacher came naturally. I love knowing that I’m making a positive difference every day in each child’s life that’s in my care.
A little more about me: I’m a wife and mom of 3! My favorite thing to do is travel with my family and friends and enjoy life. I think being a military brat and traveling the world as a child with the Army inspired me to continue my travels as an adult and introduce my own children to the wonders of the world! I love food of all kinds, there isn’t much I don’t eat or won’t try but seafood is my favorite! When I’m not traveling I love cuddling up with my favorite blanket and binge-watching Netflix shows!

I am Michaela Robbins. I’m originally from Asheboro (home of the North Carolina Zoo). I moved to Charlotte in 2014 to continue my education and fell in love with the city now making it my home.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I studied Psychology with a concentration in Child and Family Development. I am now pursuing my BK licensure as well as my Masters of Education. It is so important to me to be a compassionate educator and always encourage children throughout their education.

My first interactions with young children began when I was fifteen-years-old in teaching gymnastics. I loved seeing the children’s reactions when they learned a new skill, and it made me feel like I was making a difference. It was at this time I knew I wanted to work with children as a career one day. I was encouraged to take an early childhood education class where I would go to different preschools and volunteer throughout the day. The young children kept me on my toes. Watching them learn new skills truly amazed me, and this is when I knew I wanted to become an early childhood educator.
