At Providence Preparatory School we support the movement to lessen children’s time in front of screens. We do, however, want our children to be prepared for the use of technology in school and be familiar with the most current types of digital devices. To provide the appropriate level of exposure we will use iPods®, iPads® and Sharp®Whiteboards throughout the school.
There are iPods in every classroom that will be able to access a main music source and also play music/digital books that our teachers have downloaded. iPads are used to enhance learning themes and studies. iPads in the older preschool classrooms will be part of the children’s daily schedule. The children will be able to use the computers as part of their free choice center time. Sharp Whiteboards will be used in certain Pre-school and School Age classrooms to introduce children to the types of technology they will be utilizing when they enter elementary school.
